Propaganda in Advertising/PR 8

One of the first ads that I found used a well known slogan for a milk ad. Since I was young milk has used the slogan "Got Milk?" who is often endorsed by some celebrity who just finished taking a sip of the milk.

Another ad that got super popular a couple of years ago was the subway eat fit ads. A person named Jared who was very obese tried the subway diet and soon lost so much weight that he became the spokes person as a testimonial for Subway.

The final ad that I found was an ad from a very long time ago. The "We Can Do It!" ad used a direct order to try and motivate the women of the world to be better then what people believe they could do in that time period.

  1. Good examples. Rosie the Riveter in the "We CAn Do It" ad was used to encourage women to work in munition factories during World War II when men were in the services.

  2. All are very good and memorable examples. I really like the last slogan "We Can Do It!" by means of the powerful image presenting the women in WW2.

  3. I like your example of how the "Got Milk" ads were using the transfer technique, the subway ads with Jared were using the testimonial technique, and the "We Can Do It!" ad was using the bandwagon technique (I think)
